Sixth album "Pirate Lover" will be released soon...!

The last few years has been quite extraordinary from sailing on a beautiful sailing ship with wooden masts around  the Aegean Sea to hanging out with the gypsies in the Camargue to a road trip through Patagonia on Route 40 to Kazakhstan where I was given a beautiful dombra. 

 

I will try to update my blog with my photographs and ephemera which has fallen into abeyance due to lack of time mainly.

I also discovered that none of my previous music (the three albums I did with David Baron Age of Solo, Everyman and Good Fortune, Bad Weather) have been on Spotify for quite some time due to not checking out on $0 on Tunecore so it feels like I'm having to start from scratch! 

​

Many of the instruments I play myself but this album features some great musicians.

 

They are Richard Moore on violin, Dave Barbarossa on drums, Josh Craig on guitar and pedals and effects, Will Ferguson on piano, clarinet and vocals and Graham Dalzell on bass.

I also wish to thank the excellent Simone Filiali at Slipway Studios for recording drums and helping me prepare the album for mixing.  ​

I spent a long time on this album which was recorded at home and I have been a brutal editor of myself!  ​ And I think of all the instruments I play on it piano, keyboards, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, mandolin, balalaika, psaltery, dombra, harmonica, flute, treble recorder, mandolin, ukulele, harmoniums, accordion and some percussion and realise it's not about the endgame it's always been a personal trip into the world of beautify and sound....
